The Meindl Softline Ultra GTX boot is an ultralight, waterproof, fabric walking boot that offers outstanding stability, and provides all the technical features you would expect from a Meindl boot.

The excellent Air-Active footbed technology combined with the Gore-Tex lining results in a highly breathable, waterproof boot. Tough with high levels of grip, this lightweight boot is a popular choice.

Meindl have worked intensively on technical innovations in boot design for years. One of our most important developments in boot design was the production of a multilayer system - the Meindl Air-Active® technology - consisting of

• Hydrophobic leather or alternately hydrophobic cordura inserts,
• Reticulated cushions without adhesive layers,
• Air drainage and Drysole® as a removable insole.

The bottom of the boot is sealed with the "Bottom Fill" sealing technology developed and globally patented by GORE and when worn together with the right socks - provides a system that works in both summer and winter. International tests have demonstrated the quality of the Meindl Air-Active® technology, now ultimately enhanced by the GORE sealing technology.

With GORE-TEX® in your boots and they are guaranteed to be waterproof.

Meindl - one of the first manufacturers of waterproof boots in the German-speaking countries - has incorporated the high-tech material in its waterproof boots for over 20 years.

GORE-TEX® is the only membrane that simulates the function of human skin: ultrathin, with approximately 1.2 billion tiny pores per cm2, this fine membrane is both impermeable to water vapor and water. The human body eliminates perspiration through the skin - GORE-TEX® wicks the perspiration away from the foot in the form of vapor.

Skin is impermeable to water - GORE-TEX® has a similar function. Water molecules are 20,000 times larger than a micropore, water cannot penetrate.

GORE conceals and combines the membrane together with various textiles to adapt the boot to different fields of application.

" Bought a pair of Softlines to do the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek.Wore them on the three flights to Kathmandu with no problems. Got a half size bigger than normal on the shops advice and they fitted great with no pressure on big toes on descents. Really hold the whole foot securely, the odd stream did not phase them and the grip was excellent. The snow in Himalayas was not deep, so dont know how they might cope in long term freezing conditions, no complaints from me, try them!" Would you recommend this product: Yes

"This boot is a great fit for me... the toe box gives room for my toes to spread when i step. i can lock my foot in tight without it feeling squeezed in any way and have no movement in the heel. nicely padded heel and ankle. more accommodating for width than burma's and noticeably lighter but still feel supportive and rigid, sure underfoot. This boot is well designed, very comfy!! and tougher than it looks... Excellent!!! " Would you recommend this product: Yes

"Excellent boot-highly recommended for 3 season use. If you prefer a wider boot this will suit better than the narrower fit (Italian last) of boots like Scarpa.
