The Meindl Burma Pro MFS Men’s Hiking Boot truly sets the standard for what a consistently superb piece of hiking footwear should be. Utilising a powerful Goretex boot lining you can rest assured that the Burma Pro MFS boot will remain incredibly waterproof, forming an impermeable membrane that creates a barrier that is almost entirely impenetrable by water. Having worked successfully with this lining for over 20 years, utilising intuitive German engineering Meindl have mastered its application – and with excellent wicking capabilities as well the risk of feet becoming hot and uncomfortable is also one of the past. Combine this with a Silicone treated Leather upper and you know that your feet will remain protected across almost any terrain.

For long hikes and treks Meindl are perfectly aware that comfort is as important as technical features – and the Burma Pro MFS is no exception. Utilising MFS (Memory Foam System) Technology the boot internally moulds to the shape and size of your foot, creating a fit that has been entirely customised for your comfort. This is further re-enforced by a high ankle cut and generous padding around the ankle cuff and across the length of the tongue. Alongside the Goretex lining for external breathability, the Air-Active footbed also absorbs moisture internally and stores it away from the feet.

Whilst comfort is key, this boot offers a great deal in terms of technical characteristics as well – with a selection of features to improve functionality. The Multigiff sole designed by Vibram is amazingly grippy and provides a great deal of skid resistance on terrains from rock to grass and from mud to bog. This sole alongside an additional Poron shock absorber ensures that your load is distributed evenly which removes the risk of discomfort across longer journeys. Furthermore, plenty of lateral and longitudinal reinforcement in the form of a well designed eyelet lacing system give added support that also assists in easy removal of the boot.

"These boots are absolute bliss. My previous boots - a pair of Lowe's I bought in Switzerland 4 years ago - gave up the ghost after long and good service, and proved remarkably difficult to replace. Despite trying 8 boots from 5 manufacturers nothing came close ... until I tried these Meindl Burma Pro's. Their fit is so good it's impossible to avoid cliche's along the lines of 'fitting like a glove'. Their silanized nubuck uppers make them effortlessly waterproof, the rubber skirt about the sole protects the lower parts of the uppers well, they're warm and blissfully comfortable. "Had read other reviews on a wide selection of boots and took the plunge and got a pair of these. Took them out to break them in a couple of times and had a few blisters at first. Although the ankle/boot area is nicely padded they seem to have forgot about the insoles. Replaced them with a set from my running trainers and no problems after that. Took them out on Dartmoor and no problems with wet feet. Can get quite hot on sunny days but with the right socks no blisters formed. Worth the money. " Would you recommend this product: Yes
