We knew the Hillmaster GTX boot was set to become a great classic years ago!

The late Chris Brasher looked hard at walking boots and came up with the Hillmaster which was a revolutionary new style of walking boot. The Brasher Hillmaster GTX has a lower cut at the back away from the Achilles tendon - hardwearing, lightweight and with always surprising out of the box comfort.

"Beautifully soft uppers; a very comfortable boot. The sole is dangerous on slippery surfaces - it has little grip and should be replaced with a vibram sole. The surface area of the sole is too small, which also has a negative effect on the grip. " Would you recommend this product: Yes

"I bought the Brasher Hillmaster GTX back in the 90's. They got little serious use until I moved to New Zealand. These boots made life in the NZ bush so much more bearable. The tread perfect for traversing step slopes. I did eventually get them resoled, but they were never the same. The shape of the boot, (Modeled on a running shoe) gives little need to 'break them in' before taking to the hills. I have yet to try the Meindl M4 sole, but I would have trouble doing so after finding such a good boot. " Would you recommend this product: Yes

"I purchased a pair of the Hillmaster XCR's on Thursday, you delivered them on Friday and I went walking on Saturday! What an excellent service. I have had many boots over the last 15 years and all have been high ankled, high support, leather boots. Although they have served me well I though it was time to try something different. After wearing the Hillmaster's for a couple of hours on the Friday, I walked about 15 miles on the Saturday around varied terrain in Kent. The boot was superbly comfortable, it was durable and didnt feel loose or un-stable underfoot at all. The low slung rear of the boot is suprisingly easy to get used to and provides better support for my ankles than most boots i've tried. Lacing is straight forward and the tounge is very comfortable, even when your laces are tight. This Hillmaster is very good and with the simple leather and suede upper was easy to clean once the mud was dry. It also has a very 'British' fit, by this I mean the boot will accommodate a wide foot like mine. It feel like Brasher have made the Hillmaster like it was design for me!"
